12 Years of Insecure Writers Supporting Each Other!

September 6 question: The IWSG celebrates 12 years today! When did you discover the IWSG, how do you connect, and how has it helped you?
I can't believe the staying power of this group. Well, actually, I can because it was one of the best ideas to come out of the blogosphere.
My first IWSG post came out in January 2013. So, not the beginning, but pretty close. It was a month before my first novel was published, and I was having a major freak-out. Even now, I can look back and laugh at my thoughts while appreciating the support and advice others gave me so long ago. It's all still applicable today.
I used to be better about connecting, but over the years, it's become harder. That makes me sad on many levels. I try my best to read at least ten IWSG posts each month, but it often takes me several days. There's just so much going on! I miss the deeper connection and friendships I had ten years ago, but I know it's my fault they've withered away. Perhaps when my last child moves out I'll be able to dig deeper and be a better friend. *fingers-crossed*
In other news, CATCH ME IF I FALL is now in print, kindle unlimited, and in audio production!

IWSG
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds! Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time - and return comments. This group is all about connecting! Let’s rock the neurotic writing world! Our Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG. The awesome co-hosts for the September 6 posting of the IWSG are Sonia Dogra, J Lenni Dorner, Pat Garcia, Sarah - The Faux Fountain Pen, and Meka James!
